Ahhh these guys!! I am so excited it’s Chris and Elinor’s wedding weekend, and I can hardly wait to photograph and celebrate them at Chicago Illuminating Company. I first met Elinor through the amazing Chicago wedding industry as she is the Catering Sales Director at Blue Plate. She always has a smile on her face and is both incredibly sweet and awesome at what she does. I always love working with her, so when she and Chris asked me to capture their wedding, I was beyond thrilled! We did their engagement session in Olive Park and then hopped around some of our favorite spots in the West Loop.

Their love of John Legend brought these two together one night at State Bar, and Drake, Lil’ Wayne, and JAY-Z have kept them together. Chris and Elinor’s affinity for rap, hip-hop and R&B may have led to their first date, but it was discovering what they were both made of in some of the hardest seasons of their lives that truly cemented their connection. Elinor helped Chris transition after his move to Chicago through some incredibly tough circumstances, and Chris was there with Elle as she nursed her father back to health after a serious illness. As they opened up to each other in these early stages, it illuminated just how special their relationship was and made the good times they shared together even more meaningful. They quickly discovered a love that made them inseparable.

Chris has always admired Elinor’s ability to stay calm under pressure, and she loves how he is the social butterfly of their circle. Chris never meets a stranger and is often found dancing while he gets ready- and in the elevator. Elinor is a master at puppy dog eyes and making requests that can’t be refused, and being with Chris has brought out her inner goofball. While they love to explore the city, travel, and spend time with friends, they love a good night home with Netflix, pizza, and wine.
