Have I mentioned how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE shooting for The Everygirl?! Through TEG, I have met some of the most incredibly inspiring women from Adrienne and Lauren of Skirt PR, Sasha and Lauren of Nate Berkus Associates, Lindsey Avner of Bright Pink, Marie Whitney of Two Penny Blue and many more. This most recent shoot with Shayna Norwood of Steel Petal Press was really a special one. Whether it was merely spending time with another artist or the fact that Shayna is just so incredibly warm, spunky and free-spirited, I instantly felt a kinship with her. It was her passion for paper, textiles and words that sparked her interest in creating her own business, and it’s been her love for what she does that has propelled her through the joys and trials of running her own business. Says Shayna, “Do it because you love it; and you REALLY have to LOVE it. There’s very little glamour and a LOT of hard work involved. Follow your heart and trust your own instincts. Stay true to yourself, your aesthetic, and ideals. Don’t ever give up.” As a lover of letterpress and a fellow entrepreneur, I have fallen in love with her artistry and am moved by her focus and vision.
